2 Live Crew veteran Luther Campbell has come out swinging against Spike Lee, taking issue with the director’s harsh critique of Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained.” Lee, who has publicly taken issue with Tarantino’s repeated use of the n-word in “Django’s” script, is on the receiving end of some pretty harsh epithets in Campbell’s new op-ed for the Miami New Times.

“Screw Spike Lee,” Campbell begins. “Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ is a brilliant flick that more accurately depicts the African-American experience than any of the 15 movies about black culture Lee’s directed in his lifetime.”

That may seem rough, but it’s nothing compared to how Campbell closed his blog: “Spike is upset because Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the movie is just like him: a conniving and scheming Uncle Tom.”

On Sat. Jan, 19, Obama is urging people nationwide to channel the spirit of King, who famously said “Life’s most persistent and urgent question: What are you doing for others?”, and take part in the National Day of Service. The official Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is Mon., Jan. 21.

Across the nation, people will come together to better their communities. From packing meals for the elderly to refurbishing homes damaged by Superstorm Sandy to assembling care packages for troops overseas — there will be service projects in all 50 states serving local communities, according to a recent statement.

Let’s just start off by saying that we can’t believe Sade is turning 54 today! The Nigerian-born, British-bred singer is literally the definition of a timeless beauty (take note Beyonce and Rihanna). That silky, slicked back hair. Those ruby lips. The flawless skin. How does she do it?

From the moment she hit the air waves with her smooth voice and stunning style we were hooked. Thirty years later, we’re still mesmerized.

Sade has been a muse to many. Her musical influence is far reaching from Beyonce to legendary rapper Rakim. But her style is just as enduring. Just this year, Jean Paul Gaultier paid homage to Sade’s signature style during his Spring 2013 runway show and designer Olivier Rousteing specifically cited the singer’s feminine use of menswear as inspiration for Balmain’s current spring collection.
